An "occurrence" form policy-coverage is provided for claims arising from a covered event which occurs during the policy year, no matter when the claim is made.

Premises liability ("slip & fall") coverage is included for protection from third parties who are injured on premises used principally in your practice as a mental health practitioner. (Beware: Some programs do not include this coverage at all or only at a substantial additional cost.)

There is no deductible.

A $25,000 damages sub-limit for allegations of sexual misconduct will be provided. (Beware: Some programs do not provide coverage for damages at all. You would be responsible for payment.)

If you are the defendant in a covered claim, you will be paid up to $300 per day ($5,000 maximum) for lost earnings due to your appearance at hearings or trials at the company's request.

Up to $5,000 paid for reimbursement of attorney fees incurred in the defense of a complaint before a state licensing or governing board provided that the allegation in the complaint would be covered by the policy should a claim be filed.

When a covered claim is brought against you, legal fees and court costs are paid in addition to your liability limit. (Beware: Some programs deduct legal fees and court costs from the limit of liability, reducing the amount available to pay damages.)
